Myrthe Smit

Myrthe is a PhD student in the Molecules, Cells, and Organisms (MCO) program at Harvard University. She holds a BSc. and MSc. degree in Nanobiology from Delft University of Technology and the Erasmus Medical Center in The Netherlands. She joined the lab in June 2024 and is interested in studying epigenetic mechanisms that drive tumorigenesis.

Paul Kaegy

Paul is a master student in Molecular Biotechnology at Heidelberg University in Germany. In the Bernstein Lab, he will explore utilizing single-cell epigenetic data to establish lineage relationships in clonal hematopoiesis that help understand the emergence of blood cancers.

Daniel Fridman

Daniel is a PhD student in BIG (Bioinformatics and Integrative Genomics) at Harvard Medical School. He is interested in applying computational biology to study gene regulation. He joined the Bernstein lab in June 2023 and is working with Justin Becker to study the regulation of transposable elements in cancer using long-read Nanopore sequencing technology.
